Prof. Jo-Anne Murray
I'm Professor of Educational Innovation at the University of Glasgow, where I am responsible for digital education strategy, including the development of online distance learning provision. I am passionate about providing an engaging student experience to enable students to achieve their goals and ambitions. I am also passionate about supporting staff to develop their teaching and to also help them achieve their career aspirations.
I have received several teaching excellence awards and have led teams of academics and learning technologists at two Russel Group universities. I have also led the development of many novel learning and teaching approaches, including virtual worlds, mobile apps and massive open online courses.
I am also a scholar and educational researcher, with a particular interest in collaborative online media such as the use of Second Life. I have also done work to evaluate the experiences of those studying MOOCs. Other research has included the use of online peer assessment and digital feedback approaches. Recently, I have developed and evaluated the use of mobile apps to support students transitioning to university.
